I just made myself scroll through this entire list: World Trade Center Victims. It took me a long time and the whole time I was thinking about just how many people died at the World Trade Centers. I wanted to try to get a handle on the sheer numbers involved. My fiance and I had been talking about the fact that she had a hard time picturing 6,000 people. I thought that scrolling through the list would help me to try and get a sense for that number.

It took a long time.

Then, when I got to the bottom of the page I read this: The total number of people listed is 1,985. The page was updated October 9, 2001 at 9:45 a.m. EDT.

I wasn’t even close.

This is the best source I’ve found for information about the hurricane damage in Belize: Message Board for Ambergris Caye and Belize. Early reports sound devastating.
